Chairmans Report: The Chairman ran through last
season’s Winter & Summer League. Concluding that, overall both had a
successful season.
Treasurer Report: Last Seasons expenses were reported
and approved by all.
Election of Committee
Members: The existing
committee said they were all happy to continue. There were no objections and
all voted in favour.
AOB:
B League to revert
to only 1 leg for the singles. This was rejected by 6 votes to 1 (B
Teams Only) Therefore the current format will continue. It was mentioned and
recommended that players should be ready to play when it’s their turn (not pop
out for a smoke first, just pop to the bar to buy a drink, go to the loo etc)
And the use of Rule 3.10 use the Bullseye to resolve games that are going on
too long. Also venues with more than one board, should use the second bord if
games are dragging on.
Allow electronic score
boards update;
As it appears that some
teams prefer to use electronic scoreboards, rather than lumber 1 or 2 players
with all the chalking.
The Committee is
prepared to allow the use of electronic scoreboards, providing they record at
least 4 previous scores.
And both teams agree to
their use.
Start Time 8pm for B
League and 8.30pm A League. Approved 12 vote to 0. It was mentioned that this is the time
games should begin, not arrival time. If both teams are ready to play before
start times, they should.
All requests (New
Players etc) should be done via the relevant Whatsapp group to avoid any
confusion, so that all captain’s and committee are aware. Approved 12
votes to nil.
Replace draw system and
put players names up instead. Turned down 12 Votes to 0.
Poor condition boards
at some venues, what can be done? The Committee commented that all venues should have good
quality and condition board(s). If the committee becomes aware of a venue with a poor board, they will
request them to replace it. A winmau Blade 6 is about £45. If used on Match
nights only, should last a year and then can be used for general play. That
works out at less than a £1 week!
Singles competitions.
Can a players not be drawn by themselves at an outer venue (Eg a Newdigate player
being drawn at Ashtead etc). The Committee agreed. Therefore, Eights, Fours and Pairs will
be at the outer venues. With the Singles being held in Dorking venues (Includes
Chart Downs & North Holmwood).
