SUMMER LEAGUE 2026

 

The summer league group stage will start on 2nd June. 22 teams have entered this year’s Summer League. There will be 11 Weeks of group games.

One group of teams where teams play 11 other teams once. Same as the Champions League (Swiss-Format).

 

 

Genral Rule

1. All matches will take place on Tuesday nights commencing at 8.30pm.

 

2. Teams will consist of a minimum of 4 players, and can be all male, all female or mixed, with a minimum age of 18.

 

3. All matches will consist of  :- 2 pairs 601, 4 singles 501, then 2 Cross Pairs 601, 4 Top to Bottom Singles 501 and finally 1 Four 701

 All games are one leg. Toss of a coin to decide who starts first game, teams will then alternate.

The team that is losing at the start of the cross pairs decides who plays first in the cross pairs.

Players can be changed after both sets of pairs and singles. Please ensure no pair or single is repeated. Home team to put names up first.

 

Order of Play:

Play 2 pairs, 4 Singles.

Change players if needed

Play 2 Cross Pairs, 4 Cross Singles

Change Players if needed

Play 4-a-Side

 

4. To save money there will not be any result cards.

 

5. Additional players may be added during the league stage only, providing that the player has not played for any other side during the competition. All teams will inform the League Secretaries and opposing captain of any changes (whatsapp, email or text is fine).

 

6. Result Notification

On whatsapp group.

 

7. If a team is struggling for players the must do all they can to field a side especially if they are playing away from home. Anybody who has not played is allowed.  Even if they have never played darts before, they may enjoy it!

 

8. If a side withdraws from the Summer League, that team \ pub will not be allowed to enter next year’s summer league.

 

9. Results for matches not played for whatever reason (team failed to turn up etc) will be decided by the Committee, via a pools panel type decision.

 

10. Knockout stage qualification;

Teams finishing 1st to 8th Summer League Competition. 1st v 8th, 2nd v 7th etc

Teams Finishing 9th to 16th Consolation Trophy.  9th v 16th, 10th v 15th etc

Teams Finishing 17th to 22nd will play for the Wooden Spoon Trophy. 19th  v 22nd and 20th v 21st.  17th and 18th have a bye to the semi final.

 

12. The Summer League is not meant to be too serious! So, keep it friendly and have some enjoyable games of darts!
